My Habits

The My Habits page is your main screen for tracking habits. It shows every habit you are tracking, your current streak for each one, and a 7-day timeline so you can log what happened each day.

This guide explains how to view, add, edit, reorder, and delete habits. It also covers how to log each day for a habit, chat about a habit with friends, and what to expect when you are offline.

Key rules

  • You can track up to 30 habits.
  • You can only update logs for the past 7 days. Days beyond that window are locked and cannot be changed.
  • Your friends can only see habits you have shared with them. Private habits stay private.

Viewing your habits

Each habit appears as a row on the page. The row includes:

  • The habit name.
  • A streak badge when your current streak reaches 2 or more days (a flame icon appears at 7+ days). The badge color and style change with the streak length so you can read progress at a glance.
  • A frequency label that shows how many skips you have remaining this week or month.
  • A 7-day timeline with colored dots. Each dot shows the log status you picked for that day.

If you see a faded streak badge, it means the most recent valid log is older than yesterday. The streak has not been broken yet, but it may reset if you add a new log without filling the missing days first. Update any missing logs inside the 7-day window to keep the streak going.

Adding a habit

Tap the Add button at the top right of the page. A form opens where you can:

  • Enter a habit name.
  • Set how many skips you are allowed each week or month (or choose unlimited skips, or no skips). This setting controls how often you can skip the habit while protecting your streak.
  • Choose which friends to share the habit with, if any.

Tap Save to create the habit. It appears at the top of your list. If you already have 30 habits, the Add button shows a message telling you the limit has been reached.

Editing or deleting a habit

Tap any habit in the list to open the edit screen. From here you can:

  • Rename the habit.
  • Change the skip allowance and period (weekly, monthly, unlimited, or none).
  • Update which friends the habit is shared with.
  • View all your logs for that habit, including dates outside the 7-day timeline shown on the main page.

To delete the habit, use the delete option inside the edit screen. Deleting a habit removes it and all its logs permanently. This cannot be undone.

Logging a habit day

Tap any day circle on the 7-day timeline for a habit. A menu opens with these options:

StatusWhat it does
CompletedAdds 1 day to your streak and keeps progress moving.
SkippedProtects the streak, but does not add a day. Uses one of your available skips.
🌴 VacationProtects the streak, but does not add a day. Does not count against your skip allowance.
FailedEnds the active streak immediately.
🗑 ClearedRemoves any log for that day. A missing day can reset the streak if it breaks the chain of daily logs.

Pick the status that matches what happened. The dot on the timeline updates right away. The app syncs your choice in the background and recalculates your streak automatically.

For a full explanation of how each status affects your streak, including miss days, recovery, and recalculations, see Habit Logs and Streaks.

If a day is more than 7 days in the past, tapping it shows a message that the date is outside the update window. You can view older logs inside the edit screen, but you cannot change them.

Reordering habits

When you have more than one habit, a Reorder button appears at the top right. Tap it to open a screen where you can drag habits into the order you want. The new order is saved automatically.

Chatting about a habit

Each habit row has a message icon. Tap it to share the habit with a friend and start a conversation about your progress. If the habit is not yet shared with that friend, the app asks you to confirm sharing before the chat opens.

Working offline

When you lose your internet connection, a banner appears at the top of the page that says "Offline." You can still view your existing habits and logs. Any changes you make while offline are saved on your device. When your connection returns, the app syncs them automatically.

FAQs

Can I recover a deleted habit?

No. Deleting a habit removes all of its data permanently. There is no undo or recovery option.

Can my friends see habits I have not shared?

No. Friends can only view habits you explicitly share with them. All other habits remain private and are not visible to anyone else.

What is the difference between skipping and taking a vacation day?

Both protect your streak. A skip counts against your weekly or monthly skip allowance. A vacation day does not use a skip, so it is available even after you have used all your allowed skips. Choose vacation when you are genuinely away or facing an unexpected event that kept you from the habit.

Does reordering affect anything besides the list?

No. Reordering only changes the order habits appear on your page. It does not affect your logs, streaks, sharing settings, or any other data.
